1. ลดมาจากประโยค Compound ประโยคที่เชื่อมด้วย FANBOYS (for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so, as well as, that is, etc.) อาจจะลดกริยาส่วนหนึ่ง ซึ่งมีความหมายเป็นรองลงเป็น Participle ได้ ดังตัวอย่างประโยคต่อไปนี้

-She sits in the room and watches TV.
-They do good as well as hope for fame.
-He returned home and at the same time he was disappointed.
-I punished him, that is, I told him to clean the room.
-For he was sick, he didn’t come yesterday.
-I am not invited, so I won’t take part in the party.

ประโยคเหล่านี้สามารถจะลดส่วนหนึ่งเป็น Participle ได้ดังนี้
-She sits watching TV in the room.
-They do good hoping for fame.
-He returned home disappointed.
-I punished him telling him to clean the room.
-Being sick, he didn’t come yesterday.
-Not invited, so I won’t take part in the party. (เพราะไม่ได้รับเชิญ ฉันจึงไม่อาจจะร่วมงานเลี่ยงได้)
