สัตว์ใน Class Cephalopoda ได้แก่ปลาหมึกชนิดต่างๆ หอยงวงช้าง และหอยงวงช้างกระดาษ

ลักษณะสำคัญของสัตว์ใน Class Cephalopoda

  • เป็นกลุ่มสัตว์ที่ว่องไว ว่ายน้ำได้ดี มีหนวดรอบปาก และ มีท่อน้ำ
  • ระบบประสาทเจริญดีมาก
  • มีตาขนาดใหญ่รับภาพได้
  • เท้าปรับเปลี่ยนไปเป็น ท่อน้ำ และ หนวดหลายเส้นล้อมรอบปาก
  • มีเปลือกทั้งภายในและภายนอก หรือไม่มีเลยก็ได้
  • เคลื่อนที่โดยใช้ siphon ซึ่งพัฒนามาจาก mantle
  • สีของผิวตัวจะเปลี่ยนแปลงขณะที่ปลาหมึกตกใจ ตื่นกลัว
