    Loy  Krathhong   is  the  most   beautiful  and  popular festival  in  Thailand. It's  traditionally  performed   on  the  full  moon   night   of  the  twelfth   lunar  month, which  usually   falls  on  some  day   in  November.
 What  do  Thai people   do  on   this   day?
During  the  everning  they  go   down   to  the  cannal  or  the  river  to  float   their  Krathongs . They  believe   this  will   bring   them   good  luck. The  Krathongs  contain  ,  a flower  ,a  candle and  three  incense  stricks which  are   lighted  before   being  places  on  the  water. Thais  usually  make  a  wish   at   the  same time.                                                 
A  Krathong  is  made  of   banana   leaves  and  decorated   with  flowers.
           Why  do  they  float  Krathong  in  the  river  ?  
They  want  to  respect   "The God  of  the  River".
