About three hundred years ago, the first English people came to America. They were called the pilgrims. In America, the pilgrims met the American Indians helped the  pilgrims and  showed them how to grow vegetables like corn and pumpkins. In the fall the pilgrims harvested their vegetables. They had a big party to thank you to God for their  new home in America and their food. The Indians came, and  they all ate together. They  had  turkey, corn, potatoes, and pumpkins. They ate and ate for three days. It was the first Thanksgiving.

         Today we celebrate Thanksgiving on the last Thurseday of November. Everyone goes home and eats a big dinner with their family. People always eat a turkey. They  also usually eat potatoes, corn,vetgetables and pumpkin pie. Everyone eats lots of food. The colors of Thanksgiving are the colors of fall-brow, orange, yellow and red. Sometimes people put on clothes and look like pilgrims of Indians.
