Halloween is on October 31th . Many years ago people in England were afraid of bad ghosts. Because the winter is cold and dark, they believed the ghosts came with the winter. November is the first month of winter, so on the last day of October, they would make big fires on the mountains to scare away the ghosts. The colors of Halloween are black and orange. Black is the color of the bad ghosts and orange is the color of the fires.                                                                                                                                                                         

      Today people don't really believe in ghosts. Now Halloween is very fun, and it is celebrated by children.They dress up like wintches, ghosts and vampires.They go from house to house and ask for candy. Some people also have Halloween parties at night. They wear costumes, dance and play games like bobbing for apples.They also cut a face in a pumpkin and put a candle inside. It looks very scary.
