Taphraya district is located in Sakaeo province.  In the past Taphraya is the sub - district of Arunyaprathet district and became a district on 30 th October 1959. In the past Taphraya district was the way for the troops of Somdej Chaophraya Bodindacha.In the past we call Thappraya and became Tappraya and finally Taphraya. In the reign of King Rama I Somdej Chaophraya Bodindacha lead an army to Nakorn Thom, Cambodia. At last he got Burapha precint (Monthon Burapha). Until The reign of  Chaophraya Aphaiphubet there was a controversy between Thailand and Frane about Cambodia in the reign of King Rama V. So Chaophraya Aphaiphubet must came back to Thailand. He lead an army past Taphraya district, Arunyaprathet,Prachantakam,and he built his home at Prachin Buri.
